Dr. Deborah Washington
DNP, MHA, MSN, RN, CCRN
Dr. Washington joined Along In Years, LLC as a Nurse Consultant during the groundbreaking phase. Firmly believing in the mission, vision, and ministry of AIY, LLC, she continues to lend her expertise to ensure the client and primary caregiver(s) are equipped to age safely in the home.
Dr. Washington has 32 years of Nursing experience in a variety of medical settings, including Duke University Medical Center, Rex Healthcare, and WakeMed Health and Hospitals.
Dr. Washington has served as a Nurse Supervisor, Diabetes Educator, Unit Stroke Counselor, Quality Reviewer monitoring Falls, Restraints, and Pressure Ulcer Injury Prevention, a CPR Trainer, and Vaccinator/Educator.
Dr. Washington holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Chamberlain University. Dr. Washington also holds a Master’s in Health Administration and has been a Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCRN) since June 2011.
Nia Wright
MSW, MA
Nia Wright is the Vice President of Social Care Services for Along In Years, LLC.
Ms. Wright understands firsthand the challenges associated with care navigation and caregiving. Ms. Wright has immersed herself in understanding how to navigate the challenges caregiving presents and how to serve those serving in the primary caregiver role.
Ms. Wright possesses extensive knowledge of various professional practices and a broad skill set related to social care. She is here to assist in addressing the needs of individuals with 1) intellectual, 2) mental, and 3) physical health disabilities.
Ms. Wright has held employment with Stop Soldier Suicide, Workplace Options, and Disability Rights of North Carolina. In these positions, she served as an advocate, educator, investigator, intake specialist, EAP counselor, and case manager.
Ms. Wright holds a Master’s of Social Work (MSW) and a Master’s in Arts in Human Development. Her pursuit of a PhD in Human Development is just on the horizon.
